Going to Heaven?

The most important question on this website.

One of the greatest verses in all the Bible is John 3:16, because it tells a person how they can go to heaven and avoid perishing for all eternity.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16

Four principles

Would you like to know how your sins can really be forgiven?

This question can be answered from God's Word in four principles, each of which you must receive personally.

  1. Admit

You must admit you are a sinner.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” — Romans 6:23

  2. Abandon

You must abandon your efforts to save yourself.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” — Ephesians 2:8-9

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.” — Titus 3:5

  3. Acknowledge

You must acknowledge Jesus Christ's payment for your sin.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” — 2 Corinthians 5:21

  4. Accept

You must accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

“And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” — Acts 16:31

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” — Romans 10:9

Want to be saved?

Pray something like this, from your heart:

Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. I believe that the payment for my sin is an eternity in the lake of fire. But I believe that Jesus Christ, God's Son, became a man to die for my sins. He shed His blood on the cross, died, was buried, and rose again for my salvation. Right now, I am asking Jesus Christ to forgive me of all my sins and become my personal Savior. In Jesus' name I ask this, Amen!
